ATTENTION-Airewharfe Properties
From 28th March Incommunities properties and some other Housing Association homes in the Keighley area will be allocated under a different system. The Choice Based Lettings Scheme will no longer operate instead there will be two routes to applying for housing.
You can get more information by visiting the Property Shop in person or on-line by clicking here or by telephoning: 01274 257880
how it works
Just like an estate agents, the Property Shop will display all available homes in the area and give details. The properties will be displayed as soon as they are ready for letting and most will be available on ‘a first come, first served’ basis.
To use the Property Shop we will need to know from you:
- the property you are interested in
- your name, address and date of birth
- if you have, or previously had an Incommunities tenancy
- if you have lived outside of the UK within the last five years
- who is moving with you
- if you have a connection with the area where the available property is
- if you are in work, seeking work or doing any voluntary work
- if you are able and ready to move
Customers wishing to apply for a home must provide proof of income ID, and household members who are to move with you so please bring this with you when visiting the office.
Managed Housing Allocations
If you are urgently looking for a home and fall into one or more of the categories below please contact us on and we will advise you on your options:
- you are homeless now or will be in the next 28 days
- you live in an overcrowded property at least two bedrooms short of your needs
- you live in what is assessed as unfit housing
- you live conditions which is having a serious impact on the health or welfare of someone in your household and urgently need to move
All current customers in priority band A or B of ‘homes’ have automatically been transferred to the new system and we will contact you as soon as a suitable property becomes available. Band A and Band B customers may also use the Property Shop.
If you are registered and in Band C or Band D you can now use the Property Shop.
The new service aims to ensure that available homes go to people most in housing need. The focus is on offering choice, wherever possible; however in some areas there are few available homes and a high demand.
We may decline to prioritise your application where there is no prospect of your being offered a property in high demand areas within a reasonable period of time, instead will discuss any other available option with you.
When you contact us we promise to give you up to date information on housing availability and waiting times so you can make your own informed choices.
If you live in a home which is too big for you and want to move to a smaller property please contact our ‘move to improve scheme on tel: 0845 141 6666
